Skylights
Skylight installation and replacement, flashed and sealed right so you get the daylight without the leaks.
A well-installed skylight brings natural light into a room without sacrificing your roof's integrity. The difference between a skylight that lasts and one that leaks is all in the flashing and the seal - and that is exactly where we are careful.
Whether you're adding a new skylight during a re-roof or replacing a tired, foggy unit, we set it, flash it and tie it into the surrounding shingles so it stays watertight for the long haul.

Common skylights questions
Do skylights always leak eventually?
No — that reputation comes from old units and bad flashing work. A modern curb or deck-mounted skylight installed with the manufacturer flashing kit and proper underlayment integration is as watertight as the roof around it. The leaks we repair are almost always improvised flashing, not the skylight itself.
Should I replace skylights when I replace my roof?
Usually yes. A skylight has a similar lifespan to the roof, and replacing it during the re-roof costs a fraction of doing it separately later — the flashing integration is already part of the job. Re-using a 20-year-old skylight on a new 30-year roof rarely ends well.
What is the difference between fixed and venting skylights?
Fixed units are sealed glass for daylight only — simpler and less expensive. Venting units open manually or electrically; in bathrooms and kitchens they move a surprising amount of humid air. Electric models with rain sensors close themselves when weather arrives.
Where does a skylight make the biggest difference?
North-facing rooms, hallways, bathrooms, and kitchens that exterior windows cannot reach. A single well-placed unit can change a dark room completely — daylight from above delivers several times the light of the same glass area in a wall.
